Welcome

It is a privilege to be appointed as the Vice President for Academic Affairs at Al Azhar university-Gaza (AUG). I took it upon myself to work tirelessly to meet the expectations of the university community and the Palestinian society. AUG has always been committed to becoming a breeding ground for innovation and creativity in the field of education and research. This shall be done by focusing on attaining academic excellence and scientific research, and building the creative and innovative capabilities of AUG through concrete and persuasive policies, and proven practices for students, scholars and faculties.

AUG seeks to develop capable, inventive, beautiful young minds equipped to respond to local demands as core members of their Palestinian community, as well as to operate on a global stage. To accomplish this goal, we examine and evaluate our efforts through oversight of undergraduate teaching and learning, graduate mentoring, faculty development, strategic planning, and the development of innovative academic initiatives.

Higher education revolves around improving lives and cultivating people through education and transforming society through research. Our efforts in AUG are devoted toward the development of promising human resources capable of embracing, enriching and engaging life and facing challenges to achieve the ultimate Palestinian dream of establishing an independent Palestinian state
