Deanship of Postgraduate studies
Al-Azhar University of Gaza developed its graduate studies by offering master's degrees since 1994. Elite of professional teachers have worked very hard to
adopt and develop many masters' programs covering the Applied Sciences such as, Pharmacy, Science, and Environment, and the Social Sciences and Human
Sciences such as Business, and Legal Studies. The university currently offers 22 master’s degree programs. AUG constantly strives to provide the
appropriate infrastructure and human resources needed to develop its programs. The Deanship of Postgraduate Studies is distinguished for the
interdisciplinary programs it offers, and it is considered one of the most important deanships of the university. Therefore, the university is highly
interested in providing the academic staff with scientific qualifications to ensure the quality of education given to our students. Moreover, the
university adopts master's researches that help in fulfilling the Palestinian society needs.
Mission
The university seeks to entrench the culture of research in higher education programs, and to provide a suitable environment that supports creativity and
uniqueness through focusing on research topics that contribute in developing the Palestinian society.
Vision
The Deanship of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research contributes to the development of Al-Azhar university as the premier academic institution of
higher education and research center in Palestine that contributes in helping the Palestinian society.
Objects
- To develop a base for scientific research.
- To provide in-depth study of a discipline under the guidance of faculty committed to students' intellectual growth.
- To strengthen its efforts to attract and educate an excellent and diverse body of graduate students.
- To maintain and selectively strengthen in cost-effective ways the core infrastructures for research, including in particular libraries and shared research facilities.
- To enhance objective critical thinking of participants of scientific researches.
- To propose applicable solutions for local and regional problems.
Tasks
- The Deanship of Postgraduate Studies is responsible for the overall supervision of graduate studies at the University.
- Accepting master's students and approving titles, content and supervisors of their researches, in cooperation with the relevant departments.
- Approving program requirements and adopting academic plans for master's students.
- Facilitating the mission of the academic staff and master's students by building international relations with local and international research centers.
- Publishing researches of the students, and participating in scientific conferences.
- Carrying out regular revision of research instructions, and providing the necessary support for Master's students in order to develop their research projects.
- Following up the pursuance of scholarships policies.
- Providing an annual report about the deanship's achievements throughout the year.
