Delegation from Overseas (NGO) Visits AUG

October 14, 2018 – Under its efforts in enhancing cooperation between the university and international and local civil society organizations, AUG received a delegation from OVERSEAS (NGO).

The delegation consisted of Mr. Enrique Barley, Overseas Country Director, Eng. Mohamed Bakri, Director General of the Federation of Agricultural Work Committees, and Eng. Nidal Za'anin, Union of Agricultural Work Committees.

Dr. Hani Najm, President of AUG, Dr. Ahmed Abu Shaaban, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, and Dr. Khaldoun Abu Al-Han, Director of the Institute of Water and Environment at the University, welcomed the delegates.

During the meeting, the attendees discussed ways of strengthening cooperation and partnership between the University and OVERSEAS Foundation through studying the possibility of implementing a joint project to design and implement a wastewater treatment unit and use treated water for crop irrigation.

For his part, Prof. Hani Nejm briefed about the university’s efforts in implementing various projects in partnership with international and local institutions, He also expressed the full readiness of the university to implement such projects.

At the end of the meeting, it was agreed to hold several meetings in the near future to further discuss ways of cooperation and the mechanisms of implementing the wastewater treatment project.
