October 3, 2018 - The Agriculture and Environment College and the Agricultural Development Association (Agricultural Relief) signed a cooperation agreement within a project entitled 'Equitable Development of Agricultural Production Through The Development of Market Systems In The occupied Palestinian territories’ which is implemented by Agricultural Development Association in partnership with Oxfam International.
The agreement was signed at the headquarters of the Agricultural Relief by Eng. Tayseer Moheisen, Director of the Gaza branch of the Agricultural Relief Society, and Dr. Ahmed Abu Shaaban, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment. The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Nabil Abu Hashmala, Director of Policy and Planning, Ministry of Agriculture, Engineer Kamal Shaikh Al-Eid - Faculty of Agriculture and Environment, Eng. Mohammed Abu Odeh and Ms. Noha El-Sherif Project team - Agricultural Relief
The Cooperation Agreement aimed at implementing an applied research to benefit from the wastes of the olive oil extraction.
Eng. Mohsen mentioned that this agreement comes transferring expertise to the agricultural engineers working in the project through research and guidance aspects so that the research and implementation processes are integrated, which will maximize the benefit to the farmer.
For his part, Dr. Abu Shaaban indicated that the signing of the agreement comes within the framework of the College's efforts to spread knowledge and modern agricultural techniques that contribute to finding solutions to the challenges facing the agricultural sector considering the difficulty of exchanging and importing knowledge from abroad due to the siege imposed on the Gaza Strip.
