Austrian APPEAR Funded Advanced Training at AUG




Dec 1, 2016 – As part of the activities of APPEAR-funded project "Rooting Development in the Palestinian Context", the Deanship of Planning and Quality Assurance concluded the first phase of the training program, implemented for postgraduate students in the Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences.

    Dr. Ali Abu Zaid, Dean of Planning and Quality Assurance, explained that the program consisted of 75 hours that distributed on 15 training days. He pointed out that it included topics on scientific research methodologies and frameworks and critical readings for development studies, in addition to various research activities delivered by a group of academics and experts from AUG and development institutions in Palestine.

It's worth mentioning that the project is implemented in partnership with Birzeit University and the University of Vienna. Two groups of Palestinian field researchers undertook the same training in Jordan and Lebanon, in addition to another group of postgraduate students in Birzeit University in the West Bank. The groups are engaged in various development activities aimed to formulate a Palestinian development vision that infuses theoretical and practical frameworks.
