Nov 23, 2016 - Under the patronage of Dr. Abdulrahman Hamad, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the Faculty of Medicine and the International Federation of Medical Students Associations (IFMSA) –Gaza celebrated the graduation of the eleventh batch of the Faculty students.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Eng. Hatem Abu Sha'aban, secretary of the Board of Trustees; a number of AUG trustees; Prof. Dr. Sami Muslih, Vice President for Academic Affairs; a number of AUG Council; Dr. Esmat Abo Asaker, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; and the faculty staff members as well as the graduates' families.
In the Board of Trustees Speech, Dr. Abu Sha'aban congratulated the graduates, pointing out the efforts of the Board of Trustees and AUG Administration to establish a special compound for medical faculties on Al Katiba land.
In his speech, Prof. Muslih stressed AUG's scientific excellence, boasting of its unique academic programs, especially the new program in Medical equipment Engineering, Clinical Nutrition, and Renewable Energy Engineering.
Dr. Abo Asaker applauded the graduates' distinction, taking great pride of the Faculty for generating well-prepared and competent physicians. He went to extend his gratitude for all those who help in developing the faculty.
The Head of IFMSA, Mohamed Awni Taha briefed on IFMSA activities, extending his thanks to the ceremony's sponsors: Dar Al-Shifa Pharmaceuticals Plc and Advanced Company for Trading and Marketing as well as Dr. Majed Abu Ramadan.
In the graduates' speech, Baha'aa Atallah expressed the graduates' joy to harvest their efforts in this day, explaining that every graduate is a representative of AUG and the Faculty of Medicine.
At the end of the ceremony, the graduates recited the Physician's Oath and received their certificates.
