Second International Palestinian Geographical Conference

Nov 14, 2016 – Via videoconference with Birzeit University, AUG hosted the Second International Scientific Conference, entitled " Geo- Palestine 2016: Past, Present and Future" for Palestinian Geographical Society.

The conference was attended by Prof. Dr. Mansour Al Louh, Dean of Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences; Prof. Dr. Ahmed Dahlan , Vice President of the Palestinian Geographical Society and Professor of Geography at AUG; and a number of professor and students of geography departments in the Palestinian universities participating from the West Bank and Gaza Strip as well as  interested researchers and graduate students.

In his remarks, Prof. Dahlan emphasized the importance of geography departments that keeping pace with the great development that has occurred in the cognitive geography. He pointed out that the universities have updated their study plans in order to raise awareness of geographical science and researchers as a basis for achieving development.

The two-day conference discussed a number of pressing international, Arabian, and Palestinian topics as well as abstracts submitted by researchers and academics from different universities.
