UNRWA Delegation Visited AUG New Buildings

Jul 21, 2016 – A high-profile delegation headed by Mr. Bo Schack, Director of UNRWA Operations in Gaza, accompanied by UNRWA's Chief of Infrastructure and Camp Improvement Program (ICIP) Engineer Rafiq Abed and his deputy Engineer Alaa Abu Hassanein, in addition to Engineer Bassam Miqdad, ICIP's project manager visited the construction site of Auditorium and Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences buildings.

The delegation was received by Prof. Dr. Sami Muslih, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Engineer Mohamed Al Wazir, Director of Projects Unit who both thanked UNRWA's role in supervising the implementation of the two buildings, funded by the Saudi Fund for Development.   

Engineer Abu Hassanein provided a presentation of the two buildings, explaining the current implementation stage and the obstacles that faced it.

For his part, Mr. Bo Schack commended the unfailing efforts to implement the project, especially the cooperation between AUG and UNRWA. Moreover, Mr. Bo Schack pledged to do his best to overcome all difficulties and to take all necessary administrative procedures to implement the project on time and according to the required specifications.

Acting as a supervisor of implementing the construction work which was officially launched in September 2015, UNRWA's visit aimed to follow-up the progress of establishing the two buildings.
