Oxfam Italia visited AUG

May 2, 2016 – Engr. Ahmed Al Sourani, Gaza Programs advisor at Oxfam Italia, visited AUG where he was received by Prof. Dr. Sami Muslih, Vice President for Academic Affairs.

The meeting was attended by Prof.Dr. Nasir Abu Foul, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture and Environment and the faculty staff members Dr. Ahmed Shaban and Dr. Mohamed Alhindy,
 in addition to President of the Board at the University Presidency Dr. Mazen Hamada.
They briefed Eng. Sourani on the latest developments of the project implemented with Oxfam; Developing Urban Agriculture and Value Chains for Agricultural Products.

The possibility of enhancing a joint cooperation between the Consumer Protection Department at the Ministry of National Economy and AUG, developing the Center of Food Analysis, strengthening AUG's role in influencing agricultural policies in Urban Agriculture Forum, and the importance of the scientific research in solving the agricultural problems were discussed in the meeting. Furthermore, AUG demands for establishing rural development and agricultural awareness center, center to support agricultural development and polices and toxicology laboratory for pesticides residues determination in foods, water and soil were also discussed with Engr. Sourani.
