HE Al Emadi Visited AUG




Jan 17, 2016- HE Ambassador Mohammed Al Emadi, Chairman of the Qatari Committee for Reconstruction of Gaza visited Al Azhar University-Gaza (AUG) accompanied by the Palestinian businessman Mr. Wadih Al Masri. HE was received by Dr. Abdulrahman Hamad- Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Counsellor Ishaq Muhanna-Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees, the trustees Eng. Hatem Abu Shaban ,Dr. Nabil Rushdi Al Shawa, Dr. Mohammed Salama, President of AUG Prof. Dr. Abdel Khaliq Al Farra, Vice President for Academic Affairs Prof.Dr. Sami Muslih, Prof. Dr. Ali An-Najar- Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Mohamed Abdel Wahid- Chairman of the Employees Syndicate, Dr. Mazen Hamada -President of the Board at the University Presidency , Director of Projects Unit Eng. Mohamed Al Wazir and Mr. Hashem Kasab- Director of the Public Relations Unit.

At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Hamad welcomed the visiting guests, valuing the historic role of Qatar in supporting the Palestinian people through launching several distinctive infrastructure projects. He also appreciated the role of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad who has followed in the footsteps of his father Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa in providing continues support to the Gaza Strip. In his turn, Prof. Dr. Al Farra briefed about AUG, its faculties and academic programs, pointing out the university's regional and international memberships.

For his part, HE Al Emadi extended his heartfelt thanks to AUG for their warm welcoming, explaining the nature of the Qatari Committee's work and contribution to alleviate the suffering of the people in the Gaza Strip. He also mentioned the most successful projects implemented by the committee to serve the Gazans.

Al Emadi concluded his visit by making a tour in the university's faculties and laboratories, including the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry, where he was provided with a detailed explanation about the nature of the teaching process there.

At the end of the visit, AUG awarded Al Emadi the university's trophy for his much-appreciated efforts to reconstruct Gaza.
