Jan 3, 2016 - As part of its efforts to strengthen academic and research collaboration, Al Azhar University-Gaza (AUG) signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Wits University in South Africa. The agreement was signed by AUG President Prof. Dr. Abdel Khaliq Al Farra and Wits University Vice-Chancellor Adam Habib.
The purpose of the MoU is to enhance the academic cooperation in the field of Mathematics and Statistics. Under the agreement, the Wits University will host academics from AUG for 4 months in order to develop mutual research in Mathematics and Statistics. Moreover, there will be mutual lectures via video conferencing technology between the two parties.
Commenting on the agreement, Dr. Awni Abu Saman- Assistant Vice President of Academic Affairs said" It aligns with AUG’s ongoing efforts to actively cooperate in the field of Mathematics and Statistics." He explained that signing the MoU comes as a culmination of his last visit to the Wits University."
