First Scientific Conference for Community Development Concluded
Nov 7, 2016 – Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences concluded its First Scientific Conference for Community Development. Out of 150 submitted researches, 73 were accepted and presented in the conference sessions.
Based on what the Conference included of presentations, discussions and dialogues among experts and specialists in various fields who recommend the following:

To set a joint national program to unify the work of the Palestinian factions, and adopt it as an actual program for the Palestinian government.

To form an independent body for the reconstruction of Gaza consisted of qualified and professional technicians from all factions, and to take real procedures towards the reconstruction proves of Gaza.

To re-create Arafat International Airport and establish Gaza port due to their importance in achieving development to the Palestinian foreign trade as well as creating job opportunities that will significantly contribute to the high levels of unemployment in the Gaza Strip.

To establish a Palestinian Population Council dedicated to drawing current and future population policies at the demographic and geographical levels and formulating a rational population policy that takes into account both quantitative and qualitative variables of the population and strengthening the relationship between demographic characteristics and sustainable development trends.

To increase the effectiveness of youth empowerment and development programs and develop the current social policy according to the emerging needs in order to ensure active participation of civil society organizations in solving the problems of youth.

To adopt rationalization policy in government expenditures and pay more grants to development expenditures.

To activate the role of Palestinian Investment Promotion Agency in developing, evaluating and assessing projects.

To activate the role of government in finding mechanisms and solutions suitable to deal with difficulties of sustainable development, through offering privileges related to investment and the tax exemption and incentive system privileges.

To adopt a comprehensive development plan to reduce the deficit and all the structural imbalances facing the Palestinian economy.

To support small and medium enterprises and industries, grant it loans, facilitate their access to equipment, machinery and other supplies, and exempt it from taxes and duties to enable them to compete with foreign products.

To enhance the relationship among strategic planning, sustainability and excellence in the performance of non-profit organizations in the Gaza Strip.

To adopt Business Process Reengineering as a modern management method helps organizations to adapt to the external and internal environment in order to improve their performance.

To overcome the challenges that prevent the application of Six Sigma model in organizations through exerting more effort and long-term planning.

To direct donor funds and allocate certain amounts to enhance the infrastructure in the educational sector, especially the construction of new schools to reduce student density in the classrooms.

To apply total quality standards, EFQM Excellence Model standards in particular to measure excellence in the Palestinian universities and dismantle the culture of quality is the university and its staff.

To unify total quality management and its basic elements in all the Palestinian universities.

To pay more attention, update, and maintain to management information systems' policies in the Palestinian universities.

To promote the culture of vocational and technical training and change high school students' path toward professional and technical disciplines that are closest to the demand for the labor market.

To apply social responsibility accounting and auditing in all banks operating in Palestine, through identifying responsibility's positions, setting performance standards for each responsibility center, and requiring external auditors with social accounting.

To develop advance plans to deal with crises in the organizations, taking into account past experience in this area.

To establish a networked knowledge systems in security institutions, relying primarily on cognitive maps are clear means of communication among the various police departments, and train distinguished cadres on knowledge management.

To use Likert scale (7 points) to measure the opinion and views on the economic and social research studies.

To use ARMA and GARCH models to predict of economic and social phenomena in the Palestinian society.
