Interactive Meeting with FOAE Graduates

Jul 30, 2017 – The Faculty of Agriculture and Environment (FOAE) held interactive meeting with the faculty graduates as part of QIF- funded project entitled “Curriculum Development and Strengthening Institutional Capacity of Faculty of Agriculture and Environment", implemented through the Ministry of Education and Higher Education and in partnership with Agricultural Development Association (PARC).

Dr. Mazen Hmada, Chairman of the steering committee explained the project's significance in terms of developing the curriculum to meet the requirements of the labor market. 

Mr. Sary Al Sahar, the Project manager, briefed on the activities implemented to bridge the gap between the graduates and the needs of the labor market.

For her part, Chargé d'affaires of PARC in Gaza Eng. Afaf Abu Ghali praised the fruitful partnership between Palestinian universities and civil society organizations, pointing out the apparent effects of the training courses in assisting students to find job opportunities.

Dr. Ibrahim Al Qidra, Assistant Undersecretary at the Ministry of Agriculture, confirmed the possibility of creating innovative solutions in spite of the high employment ratio.

Head of Agricultural Engineers Association Eng. Hassan Abu-Eita explained the objective of the training courses conducted in various fields such as soil, irrigation and networks, and animal production. He stressed that such courses aim to refine the graduates' abilities and raise their job opportunities.

The meeting was concluded with a set of recommendations, most importantly: To apply a unified law to promote the existence of agricultural engineers in agricultural companies and to cooperate with finance corporations to reduce the interest rate and increase the repayment period.
