AUG Participates in 7th Islamic Conference of Jerusalem

On the 10th and 11th of May 2016, Al-Azhar University-Gaza (AUG) participated in the Seventh Islamic Conference of Jerusalem. The conference was organized by the Ministry of Awqaf and religious Affairs under the title of "Zakat, Worship, Justice and Development".

The conference was held under the auspices of the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and was attended by Dr. Rami Hamdallah; Prime Minister, Sheikh Yusuf al-Dais; the Minister of Awqaf and Religious Affairs, a group of academics, researchers and media coverage.

Furthermore, AUG participated in a joint research submitted by Dr. Naim Masri and Prof. Dr. Sami Abu Arjh and Prof. Dr. Mazen Sabah titled "Zakah and its social and economic purposes".

 The conference closed with recommendations about Zakat, how to promote it, Promulgate laws to ensure preservation and how to use the laws to support the steadfastness of the holy city and its people in order to face the occupation.
