Scientific Day: Rational Use of Drugs

On Apr 10, 2016 – Faculty of Pharmacy and Al-Azhar Scientific Pharmaceutical Students' Association (ASPSA) organized a scientific day under the theme "Rational Use of Drugs."

Prof.Dr. Sami Muslih, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Dean of the f Faculty of Pharmacy Dr. Kana'an Al Wahedy, Dr. Naim Al Astal Director of Advanced Pharmaceutical Company and Dr.Ziyad Shaat Former Director of Pharmacy Department in the Ministry of Health, Dr. Majd Soboh Representative of Dar Al Shifa Pharmaceuticals Company in Gaza and the faculty members and students attended the activity.

In his remarks, Dr. Al Wahedy stressed the importance of the rationalization of drug consumption.  He went to highlight that more than 50% of all medicines are prescribed, dispensed, or sold inappropriately according to World Health Organization reports.

 The scientific day included two scientific sessions. The first session discussed the rational use of medicines and the measures needed to support the rational use of medicines in Gazan hospitals. The ethical criteria for the promotion of medicinal drugs were discussed in the second session.
