Tetraamide Macrocyclic Complexes of Some Transition Metal Ions

A new family of 15– membered tetraamide macrocyclic complexes (ML1CL2) and (ML2CL2) (M = Fe ,Co, Ni, Cu, and Zn) have been synthesized by template condensation reaction of o-aminobenzoic  acid with aliphatic or aromatic diamines and diethyl malonate in 2:1:1 molar ratio. The stoichiometries and coordination modes of these complexes were deduced from physicochemical and spectroscopic measurements. An octahedral geometry has been assigned for all complexes.
